It is fate that brought 2 hi-n-bye schoolmates together on a unique experience to USA...
Together, they spend 3 months working in an inn in Vermont
Together, they spend 4 weeks travelling to places like Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York City and Taiwan
Together, they share tears and laughters
Shi Ting aka Ting aka Pong and Ziwei aka Zoey aka Ping
About us
Goh Shi Ting, 21
Having the chance to travel around has always been my wish cos i wanna see as much of the world as possible and learn of people and their stories. and the first person i have to get to know and love is of cos my beloved roommate. things happen for a reason and this time round, i believe it's a very good reason. although there are ups and downs
i believe that ziwei is the one i wanna share the whole experience with.
Zhuo Ziwei, 23
I still remembered that I was the one who took the initiative to call Shi Ting. If I have not made that call, we wouldn't be here.
Knowing her existence for 2 years but no interaction at all, i do have doubts about her because in these 4 months, we have to live, work, eat, sleep, travel together.
Now, I am really glad that I made that call, and grateful that I have the opportunity to get to know her and discover that we are very much alike...

4 day boston tour (Part I)
Finally, we got a chance to get out of vermont and its greeneries. Well, Boston is known mainly for students and tourists to know more about American history. The Freedom Trail is probably the most famous attraction to visit. There are markings on the pavement to guide people to different places along the street.

We checked out Harvard too.

The famous library.

A tired Harvard student sleeping on the grass. If only we can just sleep in front of the CS building.

4th July
The best time to experience american patriotism.

We went down to Wilmington to watch the fireworks on the 3rd. It is seldom we see so many people gather outside their house or just any huge grass patch for picnic. We had burgers and sundae out under the night sky too. nice.

Royal bought all of us flags to go down to the parade. in the end, nobody wants to hold any flags cos it's just too geeky i guess. onli ziwei and i were nice enough.ahha...well, we started the parade with a huge stick of candy floss. yum...

The housekeeper Joyce's granddaughter, Natalia was in the parade too. she was riding some motorcycle thingy. hah well...that was a nice smile there.

Well, that's about it. For more photos, check out shutterfly bah. i'll try to post when there's time...kinda busy this few days with the guests and working ard the inn thus the outdated post. orh, btw, the new people are here to take over us and they are from Romania. kinda cool isnt it? ehh... i'll post more fotos from boston the next time round. ta.

ClickWarning: Movie Spoiler! Like any other Adam Sadler show, it touches your heart in a special way. Well, the movie is cliche and honestly, you'll probably know the ending of the story 15 minutes into the show. But the way Adam Sadler portrays his character. He's so sincere and convincing, and when u look into his eyes, he seems to say more than his lines say. And i feel like jumping at him and giving him a super big hug for being such a darling. He looks nonchalent and yet, i love seeing him fighting for happiness for his family. And, i always got a soft spot for family themed movies. 'Click' shows how we always have reasons aka excuses to avoid things that really matter most to us. sometimes we wanna escape the frustrating moments in life, not realising that both good and bad times make up wonderful memory that makes up life. It's getting thru the worst times in our life with pple we love that is more valuable than always having things easier. Everything happens for a reason like what i love to say. and thank goodness, it always happen for a good reason.

Your rainbow Royal made me water all the outdoor plants this morning. The sun was strong and the winds were steady. Then i noticed that whenever there is direct sun ray and with the water, it forms a tiny rainbow of colours, with a nice shape. It's really beautiful, leaving a tinkling feeling and it feels like i can touch it if i reach out for it. Actually, we all dun haf to wait till after the storm to see the rainbow. it all depends on yrself whether you want to see one. So whenever you feel that the sun is beating too harsh on you, use the watering can and spray some water. Make your own rainbow.

Soak up the sun
The last weekend sees thousands of bikers competing in races on Mount Snow. Ziwei and I went up and take a look what's happening there.

This is the view up from Mount Snow. We managed to flirt our way to a free ride on the skylift. "I feel good...lalalala..."
One of the stunts that the biker did. We had many bikers stayin in MI and boy, most of them were ~drools~ cute... haha...
Now that summer has officially arrived, it's swimming and hammocking every other day.
Life's never better.

Fluffy fluff fluffIt's amazing what music can do to people. No matter where we come from, what language we speak, cultural or personality differences. It brings people together in a way that is unexplainable. We are lucky that Mountainner Inn specialises in Elderhostel programs where retired people come together on an educational trip to learn different topics. MI does a lot of programs on music cos Ned and Royal are into opera stuff. They met in a opera group in New York 15 years ago. Just this week, the program is on Gilbert and Sullivan operatta. It has really catchy melody and brilliant words. Ziwei and I loved all the music and the sing along chorus. On the last day, the group of people are supposed to come up with their own lyrics to go with Gilbert and Sullivan's music. And one of them actually wrote about how much she enjoyed the stay here in MI, and also mentioned all of us, which is really beautiful. Man... was i touched, tears were steaming from my eyes after the whole thing. haha... everything's just amazing....
This is the paper with her handwriting.
This is taken after the performance during the last night. On the right is Nathan Hull, the instructor for this course. He's weird...and fun loving. We'll meet in New York to have some serious fun later on. Btw, he has a double degree in computer and theatre(opera). Weird... Standing beside him is Devin, another opera singer and she sings soprano and with her really great vocals, she rocks the place. And i love her hair. :>

It's time for them to leave... It's really a strange feeling, after spending just a few days together, there always people whom you have a special 'bond' with. These are people who you know that they can be 'forever' friends be it those around our age or those who are over the age of 80. That's the thing about life and travel, you get some and you lose some. I get a lot of warmth and love from these people that I have met, yet I know that all of us have our own life to go on... Thanks to all that I have met so far and in the future, for all the loves, hugs, sweet words, which I will always put it in my heart... Thanks again...
